Google now is offering App Inventor for Android software whereby you can design and install your own app for your smartphone. "App Inventor requires NO programming knowledge" says Google. The video below shows a quick, simple app being built and loaded onto a smartphone.
This is reminiscent of web page design. In the beginning it was complicated, tedious, and you had to know coding. Now anyone can build a website or blog as the interface is simpler, in modules, and the coding is in the background. Smartphone apps are following this trend and App Inventor will open the door to anyone who wants to build and customize apps for personal use, friends, family, or the market in general. This can be used for both private and enterprise.
