Google Chrome Web Store: What's a Web App?

Google announced and opened the Chrome Web Store at the Chrome Event on December 7 as reviewed here "Google Launches Chrome Web Store (Video) Online Apps, Extensions, Themes". The Chrome Web Store offers free and paid Apps, Extensions, and Themes. Google describes Apps as: "Web apps are advanced interactive websites. They may provide a wide-ranging set of features or focus on a single task like photo-editing or shopping. You can easily access the web apps you install from the Chrome Web Store through shortcuts in Chrome’s New Tab page." Google explains in the video below.
